CanSino Biologics Begins Trials of Broad Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine

CanSino Biologics (HKG:6185, SHA:688185) initiated a phase 1/2 trial of its 24-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, a broad-spectrum shot designed to prevent infections caused by 24 pneumococcal serotypes, according to a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The trial will evaluate the vaccine in subjects aged two months and older for the prevention of pneumococcal infections, which can cause diseases such as pneumonia and meningitis.

The new product could expand coverage beyond the company's existing 13-valent pneumococcal vaccine, which was approved in China in June 2025.

The firm said there were currently no 24-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccines available on the global market.

China Medical System Gets China Trial Approval for Crohn's, Colitis Drug

China Medical System's (HKG:0867, SGX:8A8) said China's National Medical Products Administration approved clinical trials of its self-developed TYK2 inhibitor CMS-D001 for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, according to a Tuesday Hong Kong bourse filing.The company said CMS-D001 is being developed for inflammatory bowel disease indications, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, and may also be developed for autoimmune conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus in the future.

Beacon Minerals Receives 'Encouraging' Results From Western Australia Deposit

Beacon Minerals (ASX:BCN) received "encouraging" results from a further 124 reverse circulation holes from drilling at the Iguana deposit within the Lady Ida project in Western Australia, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.Results include 19 meters at 12 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold from 111 meters, including 1 meter at 152 g/t grade of gold from 111 meters, and 5 meters at 21 g/t grade of gold from 165 meters, including 1 meter at 96 g/t grade of gold from 166 meters, the filing said.Assays are still being received, and a disclosure will be made once all results are returned, per the filing.Shares fell 2% in morning trade Tuesday.
