Canara Bank (NSE:CANBK, BOM:532483) has appointed Brajesh Kumar Singh as managing director and chief executive officer, with effect from Monday, according to a same-day filing to the Indian stock exchanges.

Prior to his appointment at Canara Bank, Singh was an executive director of Indian Bank (NSE:INDIANB, BOM:532814) since March 2024.

Taiwan Cuts Passenger Fuel Surcharges as Aviation Fuel Prices Drop

Taiwan's international passenger fuel surcharges will be reduced from June 7 as aviation fuel prices decline, the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) said Monday.The surcharge for short-haul flights operated by Taiwanese carriers will drop to $35 from $45, while that for long-haul routes will decrease to $91 from $117. This came after international aviation fuel prices declined to $160.10 per barrel from $208.78 per barrel.The CAA said the adjustment follows its fuel surcharge mechanism, which links charges to fuel price movements, and has asked airlines to disclose relevant information to help passengers better understand the calculation basis.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles' Total Sales Rise 42% in May

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles' (NSE:TMPV, BOM:500570) total sales rose 42% to 59,790 units in May, against 42,040 units sold a year ago, according to a Monday filing to the Indian bourses.Total domestic sales in May also grew 42% to 59,090 units from 41,557 units a year earlier, the filing said.Of the total, electric vehicle sales jumped 85% year-on-year to 10,517 units from 5,685 units.
