Ksi Lisims LNG, a proposed liquefied natural gas facility in British Columbia, Canada, on Wednesday said it has signed a preliminary agreement for the sale and purchase of 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG with the EU's Securing Energy for Europe, better known as SEFE, which is headquartered in Germany.
As per the contract terms, which are subject to the completion of sales and purchase agreement, Ksi Lisims LNG will sell LNG to SEFE on a free on board basis for up to 20 years, according to a statement.
The facility, to be located in Pearse Island, is expected to produce 12 Mtpa of LNG from two floating LNG production and storage facilities.
The plant will be supported by renewable hydroelectricity and is designed to be among the lowest emissions LNG facilities in the world, the statement added.
The German government owned SEFE provides energy solutions, with their activities covering the energy value chain from origination and trading to sales, transport and storage. It provides over 200-terawatt hours of gas and power annual to more than 50,000 clients including industrial customers, small businesses, municipalities and multinational organisations, the statement said.
