Canadian General Investments Reports May 31 NAV Per Share of $89.49, YTD NAV Return of 11.7%

Canadian General Investments (CGI.TO) Wednesday reported on an unaudited basis that its net asset value per share at May 31, 2026, reached $89.49 and resulting in year-to-date and 12-month NAV returns, with dividends reinvested, of 11.7% and 36.0%, respectively.

These compare with the 10.6% and 36.1% returns of the benchmark S&P/TSX Composite Index on a total return basis for the same periods, CGI noted.

The company said it employs a leveraging strategy, by way of bank borrowing, with the intent to enhance returns to common shareholders. As at May 31, the leverage represented 12.1% of CGI's net assets, up from 11.9% at the end of 2025 and down from 14.4% at May 31, 2025.

The closing price for CGI's common shares at May 31, 2026 was $53.00, resulting in year-to-date and 12-month share price returns, with dividends reinvested, of 13.5% and 44.0%, respectively.
