Canada will impose counter tariffs of up to 15%, 25% or 50% on $27.6 billion of imports from the US, effective Sept. 8, in response to President Donald Trump's recent announcement of 50% tariffs on roughly $28 billion of Canadian goods, Canadian Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said Tuesday at a press conference.
"Today, I'm announcing Canada will match the United States tariffs dollar for dollar, rate for rate, Champagne said.
