ByteDance merged its office tool unit with other teams as its annualized revenue for artificial intelligence reached $4 billion, South China Morning Post reported late Thursday, citing an internal memo.
The product team of Lark was integrated with the product team of the Doubao AI chatbot. Zhao Qi, Doubao's overseer, will be the leader of the new bigger section, while Lark's chief executive officer, will report to Zhao, according to the memo.
Lark's sales, marketing and customer services team will merge with another team in the Volcano Engine cloud unit. Volcano Engine's president will manage the new team, the media outlet said.
Moreover, Lark's development and infrastructure team will be integrated with the Flow division, which oversees AI applications, the report said.
ByteDance, the parent of short video platform TikTok, did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
