British energy company Ineos Energy said Tuesday it has agreed with Japanese conglomerate Marubeni to supply liquefied natural gas to Asia, as it expands its portfolio beyond the Atlantic Basin.
Ineos Energy will supply LNG on a delivered ex-ship basis to Asian markets under the agreement, according to the report.
The companies did not disclose further details of the deal, such as the gas volumes involved and contract duration.
Japan and other Asian nations are among the worst affected by the energy impacts of the enduring Iran war, having counted among the biggest buyers of Middle Eastern hydrocarbons prior to its outset, prompting a scramble for alternative suppliers.
