Bridgestone (TYO:5108) posted a 79% year-over-year rise in profit attributable to owners of the parent to 206.1 billion yen for the first half ended June 30 from 115.2 billion yen.
The tiremaker's earnings per share increased to 163.15 yen from 85.03 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Friday.
Revenues jumped 9.7% to 2.3 trillion yen from 2.1 trillion yen in the year-ago period.
For the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, the company forecasts an attributable profit of 340 billion yen, basic earnings per share of 270.87 yen, and revenues of 4.5 trillion yen.
The company plans to pay a year-end dividend of 65 yen per share for the current fiscal year.
