BrainChip Holdings (ASX:BRN) said late Tuesday it has started commercial shipments of its Akida AKD1500 neuromorphic artificial intelligence (AI) reference chips, manufactured on GlobalFoundries' 22-nanometer fully depleted silicon-on-insulator technology.
The company said early production units are being delivered to customers in the defense and wearable sectors, with qualification testing currently underway for extreme environmental conditions.
It added that the chip is available in packaged silicon and bare die formats for flexible integration across hardware platforms.
