BP (BP) said Tuesday Deputy Chief Executive Officer Carol Howle will retire after a 26-year career as the company continues streamlining its organizational structure.
Chief Executive Officer Meg O'Neill credited Howle with leading BP through "a critical transitional phase" as interim chief executive officer and later deputy chief executive officer. O'Neill also confirmed the company will not appoint a successor to the deputy chief executive role.
"With her departure I have chosen not to replace the Deputy CEO role. We have significant actions underway to streamline the organizational model and we have a focused leadership team in place," O'Neill said.
