Oil and gas giant BP (BP.L) said Thursday it commenced production from its Atlantis Major Facility Expansion project, located south of New Orleans in the US Gulf of America.
The expansion project, which was completed before the target date and under budget, will add two new subsea water injection wells to boost the pressure of targeted reservoirs.
It is expected to add about 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of gross peak annualized average production, with around 5,000 barrels per day attributable to BP.
