Boresight (ASX:BST) signed a lease for a new manufacturing facility in Alabama, US, spanning 812 square meters, roughly 15 times the size of its current site in the state, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company will invest in additional 3D printing and supporting technology to increase production scale at the facility to help meet growing demand for aerial target drones, per the filing.
The facility will initially manufacture more than 5,000 of Boresight's BQ-400 aerial target drones per year, with plans to eventually produce all Boresight products for the US market. The company said US-based manufacturing will reduce its exposure to import tariffs and trade policy risk.
