Boralex Q1 Power Output Up 12% YOY

By

Canadian renewable energy company Boralex Thursday reported a 12% year-over-year growth in power production to 1.888 terawatt-hours in Q1, from 1.691 TWh a year earlier.

The company attributed the increase to better wind conditions and commissioning of new sites, including the Limekiln wind farm in Scotland and battery energy storage systems in Canada.

Total production, however, came 1% below the expected level, Boralex said.

During the quarter, the company expanded its development project portfolio by 394 megawatts, and acquired two wind power projects in the UK, with a combined installed capacity of 59 MW.

Boralex also said its 125-MW Oxford BESS project in Canada had advanced to the construction stage and its 43-MW Sallachy wind project in the UK had transitioned to the "secured" stage.
