BOC Hong Kong Posts Higher H1 Attributable Profit, Net Interest Income

BOC Hong Kong (HKG:2388) reported HK$23.7 billion in profit attributable to equity holders for the first half, compared with HK$22.2 billion a year ago, a Friday bourse filing showed.

EPS moved to HK$2.2453 from HK$2.0959 year over year.

For the six months ended June 30, net interest income was HK$28.2 billion, versus HK$25.1 billion previously, the lender said.

The bank declared a second interim dividend of HK$0.29 per ordinary share and a special dividend of HK$0.2388 per share for the period.

A first interim dividend of HK$0.29 per ordinary share has already been paid on May 28.

SBI Holdings (TYO:8473) plans to purchase a 20% stake in Indonesia-based online brokerage Ajaib Group for $270 million by the end of August, making the latter an equity-method affiliate, Nikkei Asia reported Friday.Ajaib offers online brokerage, foreign-exchange margin trading, cryptocurrency and asset management services.
