BlueScope Steel No Longer Bidder for Whyalla Steelworks

BlueScope Steel (ASX:BSL) is no longer a bidder for Whyalla Steelworks operations in South Australia, multiple media outlets reported on Wednesday.

South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas said that two bidders have been shortlisted for the sale, according to his post on X.

According to media reports, M Resources and India-listed Jindal Steel remain the last remaining bidders for the South Australian business.

As per the Australian Financial Review, BlueScope still has the right to make a final offer to match any final bid from either of the two remaining bidders.

Bluescope did not immediately respond to' email request for comment.

The company's shares rose 1% in recent Wednesday trade.

KWG Group to Exit Fujing Real Estate Investment in 160 Million Yuan Deal

KWG Group (HKG:1813) will sell its 33.34% indirect interest in Guangzhou Fujing Real Estate Development to a unit of Sun Hung Kai Properties (HKG:0016), according to a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.Guangzhou Fujing Real Estate holds and operates the large-scale International Grand City mall in Guangzhou.Fujing Real Estate posted after-tax losses of 1.13 billion yuan and 1.53 billion yuan in 2024 and 2025, respectively.KWG Group said it was exiting the investment for 160 million yuan due to Fujing Real Estate's current financial conditions and outstanding tax issues.The firm expects to record a gain of 146.5 million yuan on the sale and overall proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes and its own debt restructuring.KWG's shares fell nearly 7%, while Sun Hung Kai slipped almost 2% in recent trade.

Endeavour Group Targets AU$300 Million of Cost Savings by Fiscal 2029; Shares Hit All-Time Low

Endeavour Group (ASX:EDV) is targeting AU$300 million of cost savings to be delivered by fiscal 2029, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.The company revised its targeted dividend payout ratio to between 50% and 75% of group underlying net profit after tax, the filing said. It also plans to lift investment in its hotels network via light touch renewals, refurbishments, and whole of venue repositioning.In the same filing, the company said it will also be exiting the majority of its existing winery and vineyard portfolio, including Chapel Hill, Oakridge, and Josef Chromy, as its Pinnacle Drinks business is repositioned to support retail.The company's shares fell nearly 4% in recent trading on Wednesday and earlier hit an all-time low.
