Blueleaf Energy and Universal Peak have secured financial close for their 100-megawatt / 400-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system in Malaysia, according to a joint statement on Tuesday.
Blueleaf Energy is a pan-Asian renewable energy platform, while Universal Peak is a power infrastructure and engineering company. The companies secured financing from United Overseas Bank, a statement said, without disclosing the sum.
As project construction begins under a build, own and operate model, the firms said they aim to commission the system by mid-2027.
The project aligns with the National Energy Transition Roadmap and Malaysia's 2050 net-zero emissions target, the statement said.
