The Bureau of Land Management has used an accelerated 14-day review to authorize Ormat's (ORA) 60-megawatt Pearl Geothermal Project in Esmeralda County, Nevada, it said on Wednesday.
The upcoming project will feature two 30-MW air-cooled binary geothermal power plants, capable of generating a combined 60 MW of baseload electricity.
With the environmental assessment concluded, the BLM and Ormat are finalising the necessary permits to commence construction, it stated.
The infrastructure footprint includes the twin power plants, production wells, and a 29-mile, 120-kilovolt transmission line to connect the facility to the broader energy market, as per the statement.
