BlackSky Technology (BKSY) said Tuesday it has won a modification to its existing contract with the US National Reconnaissance Office to develop its AROS broad area collection satellites.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The company said the satellites are intended to support digital mapping, navigation, maritime situational awareness, and 3D digital twin applications.
It said the system architecture will also include a new proprietary data pipeline to provide real-time and retrospective artificial intelligence analytics, model training, and decision support tools.
Shares of BlackSky were up 4.4% pre-bell.
