-- BlackSky Technology (BKSY) said Wednesday it won a $25 million multiyear agreement to provide an international defense client with high-resolution satellite pictures and artificial intelligence data analysis to support maritime surveillance operations.
The client has already begun using data from BlackSky's newest spacecraft, which brings the total number of third-generation satellites currently operating in orbit to four, BlackSky said.
The automated software systems will assist the customer in identifying and categorizing ships, aircraft, and land vehicles across designated geographic regions, it said.
Shares of the company were up 1.6% in Wednesday trading.
