Black Canyon's (ASX:BCA) ongoing beneficiation trials generated high-grade manganese oxide products with grades over 40% from blended low, medium, and high-grade Wandanya feeds through density-based heavy liquid separation, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
Blend one achieved manganese concentrations of nearly 42% and 45% from a 32% feed grade at densities of 2.8 grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm3) and 3.0 g/cm3. Blend two upgraded a 29% feed grade to 41% and nearly 44% manganese at the same densities.
Manganese recoveries for both blends ranged from 73% to 82%, with low penalty elements in the beneficiated products, the filing said.
