BioAge Labs Doses First Patient in Phase 2 Trial of BGE-102 in Diabetic Macular Edema

BioAge Labs (BIOA) said Tuesday it has dosed the first participant in its phase 2 trial of BGE-102 in adults with diabetic macular edema.

The trial will evaluate BGE-102, a once-daily oral NLRP3 inhibitor, both as monotherapy and as add-on to standard-of-care anti-VEGF therapy, with about 180 participants, the company said.

The primary endpoint is change in best-corrected visual acuity at week 12, BioAge Labs said.

Topline results are expected in H2 of 2027, the company added.
