US infrastructure developer Bimergen Energy (BESS) has agreed to move the 100-megawatt/400-megawatt-hour Wildfire BESS Project in Caldwell County, Texas, for conversion to the long-duration energy storage developer and investor Frontier Power USA's platform.
This has been made possible under an existing strategic framework between FPUSA and Bimergen Energy and will utilize Eos Energy Enterprises (EOSE) Z3 long-duration batteries, the statement said.
Closure of this transaction will be contingent on negotiation and execution of definitive documentation and the successful closure of a rights offering by Eos.
The selection of Wildfire follows FPUSA's previously announced conversion of a 480 MWh portfolio of ERCOT-based projects from the Bimergen portfolio and FPUSA's selection of four projects representing about 920 megawatt hours, under its strategic framework with Stella Energy Solutions.
The closed and selected projects represent about 1.8 gigawatt hours of battery energy storage capacity, equating to about 90% of FPUSA's 2 gigawatt hour capacity reservation agreement with Eos.
