Bessent Vows Secondary Sanctions as Part of 'Operation Economic Outcast' Against Iran

The US will remove any entity facilitating money laundering on Iran's behalf from the US dollar system as part of "Operation Economic Outcast," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Monday at a press conference.

In addition, Bessent said the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control is currently in the process of sanctioning over 60 entities, individuals and vessels assisting Iran, and he expects there to be a "major announcement" of sanctions against a financial institution later this week.

SoftBank Group (TYO:9984) has filed for the issuance of 1 trillion yen of unsecured straight corporate bond, with final terms expected to be disclosed on Sept. 4, according to a filing on Monday.The seven-year bond, representing the 70th such issuance, was priced at 100% of par value and will carry an interest rate in the preliminary range of 4.30% to 4.90% per annum. Industrial Bank Raises 30 Billion Yuan in Green Bond Issuances

Industrial Bank (SHA:601166) raised 30 billion yuan via the issue of two tranches of green financial bonds for green industry project lending, according to a weekend filing with the Shanghai bourse.The first tranche of three-year bonds carrying a coupon rate of 1.54% raised 22 billion yuan, while the second tranche of three-year floating interest rate with an initial 1.59% coupon raised 8 billion yuan.

Gray Media Closes $750 Million Senior Notes Offering

Gray Media (GTN) said late Friday it has completed its offering of $750 million aggregate principal amount of 7.500% senior secured first lien notes due 2034.The net proceeds will be used to redeem $675 million of 10.5% senior secured first lien notes due 2029, repay $21 million of outstanding debt under a revolving credit facility, and pay fees and expenses tied to the offering, the company said.
