Bendigo and Adelaide Bank (ASX:BEN) is expected to report flat fiscal 2026 earnings, with returns still below the cost of capital, Jefferies said in a note on Wednesday.
Investors will closely monitor how the bank balances growth, margins and capital. The bank is due to release its annual results on Aug. 24.
The market will also be looking out for updates on the sustainability of business lending growth, fiscal year 2027 margin drivers, agricultural loan quality, and whether surplus capital can help lift returns closer to management's target of above 10% return on equity.
Jefferies projects cash earnings of $518 million, up 1% year-on-year and in line with Visible Alpha estimates.
The brokerage maintained its hold rating on Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and raised its price target to AU$10.32 from AU$10.13.
