Li Jingwei, the company's vice chairman, will assume the duties of chairman until Liu's successor is named.
The railway operating company's shares fell 2% at the close.
Bank of Guiyang (SHA:601997) Chairman Zhang Zhenghai stepped down upon reaching retirement age, according to a Thursday disclosure to the Shanghai bourse.The bank has not yet named Zhang's successor.

Xingtong Shipping's (SHA:603209) subsidiary, Xingtong Investment (Singapore), signed four shipbuilding contracts amounting to 697.3 million yuan, according to a Shanghai bourse filing on Thursday.The Chinese shipping company agreed to construct four 13,000-deadweight-tonnage stainless steel chemical tankers for Taizhou Maple Shipbuilding, Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding and Jiangxi Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry.The ships will be delivered between Dec. 30, 2027, and June 10, 2028.
