Barton Gold Holdings (ASX:BGD) started sterilization drilling programs at its Tunkillia gold project in South Australia, designed to test multiple potential locations for infrastructure to ensure these are not located over potentially valuable mineralization, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
A total of 57,653 meters of reverse circulation and diamond drilling was recently completed to upgrade Tunkillia's modeled open pit mineralization to the "measured" and "indicated" category, the company said.
Its shares rose nearly 9% in recent trading on Thursday.
