Axelspace (TYO:402A) said its consolidated subsidiary, Axelspace Corp., will terminate commercial operations of the GRUS-1E microsatellite, launched in March 2021, after a malfunction in its attitude control system made stable operations impossible.
Telemetry data indicated that two of the satellite's four reaction wheels had likely failed, preventing restoration of three-axis attitude control, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.
The incident will not result in an additional impairment loss, as the asset was fully impaired in fiscal 2024, the company said.
