Axcelis Technologies (ACLS) plans to invest $35 million to build a new ion implantation equipment manufacturing facility in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, in Korea, the company said Tuesday.
The planned 200,000-square-foot facility will feature warehousing, class 1,000 and class 10,000 cleanrooms, and a training center, the company said.
The company plans to break ground on Oct. 20, with production expected to begin in H2 2028, it added.
Axcelis Technologies shares were up nearly 3% in Tuesday trading.
