Aurobindo Pharma (NSE:AUROPHARMA, BOM:524804) approved a proposal to merge step-down subsidiaries Eugia Steriles and Eugia SEZ into wholly owned subsidiary Eugia Pharma Specialties, according to a Wednesday exchange filing.
The merger, which is subject to approval by the National Company Law Tribunal in Hyderabad, aims to simplify the group's corporate structure.
The company said the amalgamation is expected to reduce corporate and administrative costs, improve treasury management, and generate operational synergies.
No consideration will be paid as the transaction involves wholly owned subsidiaries, and Aurobindo Pharma's shareholding pattern will remain unchanged.
