Atomic Eagle (ASX:AEU) said its chairman and CEO visited Niger earlier in June for talks with the government to draft a new mining convention to resume the Madaouela uranium project, according to a Wednesday disclosure filed with the Australian bourse on Thursday.
The negotiations are non-binding and incomplete, with no certainty of any agreement, per the filing.
Niger's government withdrew the Madaouela mining permit from Goviex Uranium in 2024, prompting Goviex to launch international arbitration proceedings. However, Goviex is now fully owned by Atomic Eagle and has been in resolution talks with the government since February 2025.
