ASICS (TYO:7936) posted a 53% year-over-year increase in profit attributable to owners of the parent to 82.2 billion yen for the first half ended June 30, from 53.6 billion yen.
The Japanese sports apparel company's diluted earnings per share increased to 115.84 yen from 74.94 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Friday.
Net sales jumped 33% to 534.5 billion yen from 402.8 billion yen in the year-ago period.
For the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, the company forecasts an attributable profit of 120 billion yen, a basic EPS of 169.30 yen, and net sales of 1.05 trillion yen.
The company plans to pay a year-end dividend of 24 yen per share for the current fiscal year.
Shares of the sports apparel company soared 11% in recent trade.
