Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking higher Wednesday morning, rising 0.58% to 3,025.84 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by education company Four Seasons Education (FEDU) and semiconductor company Silicon Motion Technology (SIMO), which climbed 9.8% and 7.9% respectively. They were followed by automotive marketplace Token Cat (TC) and lender Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), which rose 6.7% and 3.9% respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by diagnostic imaging centers company Concord Medical Services (CCM) and utilities company Korea Electric Power (KEP), which lost 7.7% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by online game developer The9 (NCTY) and real estate management and digital tech company Eason Technology (DXF), which dropped 3.7% and 3.3% respectively.
The lone gainer from South Asia was computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN), which advanced 4.1%.
The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firms Infosys (INFY) and Wipro (WIT), which fell 3.4% and 2% respectively. They were followed by tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which were down 1.7% and 0.7% respectively.
