Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were lower Thursday morning, declining 0.92% to 2,956.37 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by online entertainment service firm iQIYI (IQ), which rose 1.4%. It was followed by fintech firm Jiayin Group (JFIN) and automotive platform Autohome (ATHM), which were up 1.3% each.
The decliners from North Asia were led by 51Talk Online Education Group (COE) and 17 Education & Technology Group (YQ), which shed 16% and 9.6% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor firm Silicon Motion Technology (SIMO) and game developer The9 (NCTY), which fell 4% each.
From South Asia, the lone gainer was IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY), which increased 0.8%.
The decliners from South Asia were led by Canaan (CAN) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which lost 3.4% and 1.3% respectively. They were followed by HDFC Bank (HDB) and IT firm Infosys (INFY), which were down 1.1% and 0.6% respectively.
