ASE Technology (TPE:3711) board has resolved to subscribe to 809.7 million newly issued shares of its unit, Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) for NT$16.2 billion.
The shares will be issued at NT$20 each, according to a Friday Taiwan bourse filing.
ASE said the capital injection will fund SPIL's foreign-currency material purchases and repayment of existing foreign-currency loans.
The investment will be funded through proceeds from ASE's issuance of unsecured overseas convertible bonds.
