Saudi Aramco is reportedly considering increasing its oil storage capacity worldwide after supply disruptions from the US-Iran war revealed the critical importance of these facilities, according to multiple media outlets on Thursday, citing the company's chairman, Yasir Al-Rumayyan.
At a summit in Rome, Al-Rumayyan reportedly highlighted the importance of strategic stockpiles, such as those built by China and the US, in stabilizing supply chains, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The chairman, as cited by Reuters, reportedly said Saudi has storage facilities around the world, particularly in Asia. The country has relied on its East-West pipeline to maintain oil exports during the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
