Applied Materials (AMAT) and EssilorLuxottica said Tuesday they have struck a long-term joint development agreement to advance augmented reality optics platforms for smart glasses.
The partnership combines EssilorLuxottica's lenses, frames and smart eyewear with Applied Materials' expertise in materials engineering and waveguide technologies, they said.
