Anthropic Adds Claude to Slack as Collaborative Team Member

Amazon.com (AMZN)-backed Anthropic launched Claude Tag, a Slack-based tool that allows teams to tag @Claude as a collaborative channel member to delegate tasks, the artificial intelligence firm said Tuesday.

The feature gives Claude access to selected channels, tools and data, allowing it to build context over time and work asynchronously on multi-stage tasks, the company said.

An optional ambient mode enables Claude to proactively surface relevant updates without being tagged, Anthropic said.

Claude Tag is available in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers and runs on the Opus 4.8 model, according to the company.
