American Battery Technology (ABAT) said Tuesday that the US Bureau of Land Management has accepted the mine and refinery plan of operations for its Tonopah Flats Lithium Project in Nevada.
The next step in the federal review process is the publication of a notice of intent in the Federal Register to prepare an environmental impact statement, the company said.
This project, which spans over 10,000 acres of public land in the Esmeralda and Nye counties, is aimed at boosting domestic production of critical minerals needed for the proliferation of grid-scale battery energy storage systems, which support data centers, electric vehicles, and consumer electronics, American Battery said.
