American Airlines, Infinium Report eSAF Delivery for Commercial Flight

By

American Airlines (AAL) and Infinium reported Thursday the first delivery of electro sustainable aviation fuel, or eSAF, to a commercial airport for use in a commercial passenger flight.

The fuel was used on an American Airlines flight that left Corpus Christi International Airport and landed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, the companies said.

The fuel was produced at Infinium's Pathfinder facility in Corpus Christi, Texas, using waste carbon dioxide and renewable electricity, the companies said.

The eSAF was blended with conventional jet fuel before being delivered to the airport's fuel tanks and allocated to the flight.

The companies said the delivery was the first US delivery of sustainable aviation fuel made without biobased feedstocks to a commercial airport.
