Amazon.com (AMZN) said Wednesday it will work with Taiwan-based data center infrastructure provider Wiwynn to expand a new advanced manufacturing facility in Socorro, Texas, expected to create around 1,000 new manufacturing jobs by the end of 2027.
The server rack facility will boost Wiwynn's manufacturing operations in the US, and is part of Amazon's effort to bolster its supply chain by bringing custom hardware production to the US, according to a statement.
Wiwynn has invested $1.6 billion in the facility, which is expected to employ 4,000 people at full capacity, the company said.
Financial terms of the collaboration between Amazon and Wiwynn were not disclosed.
