Alpha HPA (ASX:A4N) signed a memorandum of understanding and commercial framework agreement with an unnamed South Korean specialty ceramics company, upgrading a previous 1,400-tonne-per-year letter of intent to 1,700 tonnes per year, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The company said the volume upgrade is based on strong South Korean memory chip demand and Alpha's zero-alpha emission alumina capability, including an additional nine tonnes of sales orders from Stage 1.
Alpha said its Stage 1 facility is now about four times oversubscribed, with Stage 1 sales continuing to service customers in Japan, South Korea and the European Union.
The company's shares rose past 4% in recent Wednesday trade.
