Alibaba Unveils AI Chip Portfolio to Power Large-Scale Data Centers

Alibaba (HKG:9988) is developing a portfolio of data center chips through its chip unit, T-Head, to meet growing demand for AI computing, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The portfolio includes the "Zhenwu" series of GPU chips, "Yitian" CPU chips, "Panmai" smart NICs, and ICN interconnect chips, covering the core chip components needed to build large-scale AI clusters.

Alibaba described AI chips as a key foundation of the coming "machine intelligence" era, with rising demand for AI tokens expected to drive continued improvements in chip performance and supply.
