Alcoa Breaks Ground on Western Australia Gallium Production Plant; Shares Down 5%

Alcoa (ASX:AAI) and its partners broke ground on the gallium production plant in Western Australia, marking the start of construction for a new facility co-located at the company's Wagerup alumina refinery, according to a late Monday statement.

Alcoa will construct and operate the gallium project, working alongside government and industry partners in Australia, Japan, and the US.

The gallium production plant is expected to create up to 200 local construction jobs and about 20 permanent roles once it becomes operational, the company said.

Alcoa shares fell nearly 5% in recent Tuesday trade.

ANZ Says Customer Scam Losses Fall Around 24% Between June, October 2025

ANZ Group Holdings (NZE:ANZ, ASX:ANZ) said Monday its customer scam losses fell by around 24% year over year for the period between June and October 2025.The bank said in a statement that it prevented and recovered over AU$100 million in scam and fraud-related funds. Over 476,000 payments were abandoned after a Confirmation of Payee mismatch warning during this period, it added.The bank's New Zealand shares added 1% in recent Monday trade.

AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Sets Validity for Service Agreements with Parent Through End-2028

AVIC Chengdu Aircraft (SHE:302132) set the validity for its goods supply and comprehensive service agreements with parent Aviation Industry Corp. of China (AVIC) until Dec. 31, 2028, according to a Monday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.AVIC will provide technical and processing services, equipment maintenance, and power and gas supply, among other services, to its listed subsidiary.In turn, AVIC Chengdu will provide its parent information, technology, management, and other consulting services, inspection and testing, general aviation airport services, among other services.Transactions between the two parties have reached 7.09 billion yuan as of June 30.
