Akeso (HKG:9926) said ivonescimab has been approved in China for a third indication, according to a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange.
The approval covers the use of ivonescimab in combination with chemotherapy as a first-line treatment for patients with squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
This marks the third major authorization for an ivonescimab-containing regimen in China since the molecule's initial approval in May 2024.
The drug was previously approved in May 2024 for EGFR-mutated locally advanced or metastatic non-squamous NSCLC patients who progressed after EGFR TKI treatment, and in April 2025 as a first-line treatment for locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC with PD-L1-positive expression.
