Air China (HKG:0753, SHA:601111) agreed to buy 55 Airbus aircraft, comprising 15 A350-900 jets for the carrier and 40 A320neo family aircraft for subsidiary Shenzhen Airlines, according to a Hong Kong Exchange filing Friday.
The combined list price is about $12.4 billion, including $6.09 billion for the A350-900s and $6.35 billion for the A320neos.
Air China expects to fund the purchases through internal cash, bank loans, and other financing.
The A350-900 aircraft are scheduled for delivery between 2030 and 2032, while Shenzhen Airlines expects to receive the A320neo aircraft in stages from 2029 to 2032.
