Agricultural Bank of China's Net Profit Rises 4.9% in H1

Agricultural Bank of China's (HKG:1288, SHA:601288) attributable net profit rose 4.9% to 146.9 billion yuan in the first half from 139.5 billion yuan a year ago, according to a Friday filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange.

Earnings per share grew to 0.40 yuan from 0.37 yuan a year earlier, the lender said.

Net interest income increased 10.5% to 312.2 billion yuan from 282.5 billion yuan, while overall operating income climbed 11.2% to 411.1 billion yuan from 369.8 billion yuan.

The bank's board approved the dividend payment scheme of the first tranche of the preference shares for the year 2025-2026. It decided to pay cash dividends of 4.12 yuan per preference share on Nov. 5.
