Africa Energy (AEC.ST) said Wednesday it is moving from survey work to field development at Block 11B/12B offshore South Africa.
The oil and gas exploration company's investment vehicle, Main Street 1549, replaced the previous Environmental Authorization application for the block with a new application for proposed field development submitted to the Petroleum Agency of South Africa.
Main Street also issued a draft scoping report for public review and comment to assess the scenarios of gas transported to shore via pipeline and gas processed into liquefied natural gas offshore.
Africa Energy currently holds a 10% participating interest in Block 11B/12B and expects to hold a 75% direct interest through Main Street, subject to regulatory approvals.
