By

Adani Defence & Aerospace, the defense and aerospace arm of Adani Enterprises (NSE:ADANIENT, BOM:512599), plans to invest around 25.00 billion Indian rupees to set up what it claims to be South Asia's largest private-sector missile ecosystem at Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh, India, according to a Sunday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.

Adani laid the foundation stone on Sunday for the project, which will have an advanced missile ecosystem with composite propellant and Trinitrotoluene (TNT) production at a single location. The unit will support the operational requirements of the Indian armed forces while advancing long-term defence preparedness, the company said.

It will accelerate the transition of locally developed indigenous missile systems from successful trials to serial production.
