An Abu Dhabi royal-linked investment firm has committed to invest $1.13 billion in MidOcean Energy, the company said on Tuesday.
The transaction also establishes a strategic partnership between the Private Department of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan and EIG, the global energy and infrastructure investment firm that manages MidOcean.
The two entities plan to collaborate on capital aggregation, deal origination, and the development of institutional investment opportunities across the UAE and broader regional markets.
For MidOcean, the capital infusion strengthens its institutional shareholder base as it continues to build a global LNG platform. The LNG producer, which is also backed by Saudi Aramco, currently holds interests in projects across Canada, Australia, and Latin America.
