German renewable energy developer ABO Energy said on Tuesday it had agreed to sell its Argentine portfolio of renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 3.17 gigawatts to Singapore-based Novva.
The transaction covers projects that are still in the development stage and is expected to be completed in the coming months, subject to confirmatory due diligence and the signing of a share purchase agreement.
The sale is part of ABO Energy's strategy to focus on its core markets, Karsten Schlageter, the company's managing director, said, adding that the energy firm was pleased to continue its collaboration with Novva.
Novva, a platform focused on data centers and renewable energy, acquired solar projects in Colombia from ABO Energy earlier this year, with a combined capacity of about 40 megawatts.
The Argentine acquisition would significantly expand Novva's renewable energy pipeline in Latin America.
ABO Energy did not disclose the transaction value.
The deal comes as demand for renewable power and infrastructure continues to grow alongside the expansion of data centers and artificial intelligence-related electricity consumption.
